Pizza

There are so many variations to this recipe. Hence, telling which one will taste the best would be very difficult to say.
Today morning I was talking to my sister and she told me that this time you prepare the base in the following manner and not the general dough made from yeast. 
I gave it a try and trust me the base turned out to be very crispy and tasty.



Let us start cooking!!!

Ingredients:
For Pizza dough (Makes 9 pizza bases)
Maida (Plain flour): 4 cup
Ghee/Olive oil: 5 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Sugar: 2 tsp
Baking powder: 1 tsp
Baking soda: ½ tsp
Lukewarm water: 2 cups

For Pizza sauce
Tomatoes: 6 medium blanched
Onions: 3 medium chopped
Garlic: 4-5 cloves crushed
Oregano: 1 tsp
Parsley: 2 tsp chopped
Basil: 2 tsp chopped
Mixed herbs: 1 tsp
Tomato ketchup: 2 tsp
Black pepper: 1/2 tsp
Red Chilly powder: 1 tsp
Salt as per taste

For Topping
Onions: 2 thinly sliced
Green Capsicum: 1 thinly sliced
Cheese as required (grated)

Method:
1. Sieve plain flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda in a bowl.



2. Add sugar, ghee/olive oil and sugar. Mix well.
3. Add water slowly and knead into soft dough.



4. Keep it covered for an hour.
5. Then again knead it well and make 9 balls.
6. Take one ball. Apply some dry flour and make a round chapati of about 1/4 cm in thickness.



7. Heat a tawa. Then put the base on tawa and cook it from both the sides.





8. Similarly prepare remaining bases.



9. Heat oil in a pan. Add garlic and fry till the raw smell has gone off.
10. Fry onions till translucent.
11. Add oregano, parsley, basil and mixed herbs and stir for few moments.
12. Cool the mixture.
13. Now grind the tomatoes and onion mixture into a paste.

14. Boil it in a pan.
15. Then add tomato ketchup, salt, red chilly powder and black pepper. Simmer for few minutes or till the sauce like consistency is reached.




16. Take one base. Evenly apply the pizza sauce on it.



17. Place capsicum and onion slices on it. Top with cheese as much as you like.



18. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 10-12 minutes.
19. Cut into pieces and serve the pizza hot.

Tips:
1. If you don’t have oven then you can make the pizzas on tawa itself. After preparing the pizza, place it on tawa and cook it covered. Always keep the flame on low and sometimes you have to even switch off the flame. A very crispy pizza is created in this manner.
2. You can change the toppings as per your choice.
